Allen W. Grossen
Age 75, of Browntown, died at home on Sunday, August 23, 2026 surrounded by his family. Allen was born on July 2, 1951, the son of Walter Sr. and Helen (Broge) Grossen. He graduated from South Wayne High School in 1969 and was happy to attend his class reunion on August 15th. He was united in marriage to Glenda Lawver on February 27, 1971 at the Martintown Community Church. Allen farmed, dehorned cattle, and was self- employed as a butcher before retiring in 2016. He butchered at many farms and meat lockers with Avon Locker being his favorite destination. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and loved the trip he and Glenda took to Switzerland. Most of all he cherished time spent with the “apple of his eye”, his granddaughter, Adalie Grossen.
His is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Grossen; a son, Kevin (Courtney) Grossen, all of Browntown; a daughter, Terry (Scott) Loui of Madison; granddaughter, Adalie Grossen; and special friends, Tony and Barb Seffrood and Charlie and Marcia Erickson. He is further survived by many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Glen and Donna Lawver; an infant daughter in 1971; and many close family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Charlie Erickson officiating. Interment will be in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township, followed by a catered luncheon at the Browntown Civic Center. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Allens’ name. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
