Barbara A. Stephenson

Age 82 of Monroe, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Barbara was born on April 4, 1936 in Waynesboro, Virginia, the daughter of John and Annie (Fitzgerald) Pannell. Barbara and Philip L. Stephenson were married on January 16, 1953 in Waynesboro. They lived in Denver, CO and Chicago, IL, before settling in Monroe in 1993.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Philip Stephenson of Monroe; four daughters, Debra Ward of Monroe, Susan Pressley of North Carolina, Heidi Stephenson of Illinois, and Beth Stephenson of Monroe; three granddaughters, Samantha (Brad), Brandy, and Laylah; and a greatgranddaughter, Mercedes. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sharon Stephenson; and three brothers, John, Winfred, and Jerry Pannell.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. A memorial will be established in Barbara's name. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
