Carol J. Bayrhoffer

Age 87 of Monticello, formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Carol was born on December 24, 1930 in Monroe, the daughter of Robert Leo and Helen F. (Hofmeister) Broge. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1948 and married Theodore Bayrhoffer Sr. Following their marriage, Carol and Ted farmed in rural Monroe until 1970. Carol also worked as a cashier at the Sunbeam Thrift Store, Sentry, and Kroger Stores of Monroe. She enjoyed dancing, reading, cooking, and the occasional trip to "the boat".

She is survived by four children, Steven (Deb) Broge of Monticello, Ted Bayrhoffer Jr. of Brodhead, Tom Bayrhoffer of Brooklyn, WI, and Marc Bayrhoffer of Taylorville, IL; two grandchildren, Kristina and Brandon; two sisters, Joyce Wahl of Monroe, Diane Jones of South Wayne; and two brothers, Gary (Judy) Broge of Madison, and Bill Broge of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted, in 2005; two sisters, Sharon Jacobs and Bonnie Broge; and three brothers, Russ, Byron, and Virgil Broge.
