Claire A. Ericksen

Age 94 of Footville, formerly of Monroe, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Claire was born October 3, 1919 in New Jersey, the daughter of Herbert and Florence Adams. She married Andrew C. Ericksen III on November 4, 1939 in New Jersey. In 1953 the family moved to Monroe where Claire worked at Farm and Fleet for 17 years. Claire and Andrew retired and moved to Fort Pierce, FL in 1988. Andrew preceded Claire in death in October, 1996. Claire was a former member of the Monroe Moose Lodge and in her younger years enjoyed archery and riding motorcycles. She also liked to play bingo and getting together with family and friends.

She is survived by four children, Linda Jonas, Andrea Carol Willborn, both of Monroe, Nola Grinnell of Rockford, IL, and Andrew C. (Delana) Ericksen IV of Monroe; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons-in-law, Leslie Grinnell and Tim Jonas; and one brother and one sister.

Per Claire's request cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
