Clarence J. Kraus

Age 95 of Monroe, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Clarence was born April 13, 1919 in Green County, the son of Fred and Mary (Weiss) Kraus. He married Marjorie Rude on February 10, 1946. Clarence attended the Dolan Rural School in Monroe Township. He farmed west of Monroe until moving into town in 1954 and has been a resident of Pleasant View since 2001.

He is survived by two grandsons, Michael (Sandy) Wilde of Montana, and Thomas Wilde of Monroe; and two great granddaughters, Christina and MaKana Wilde. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Wilde in 2010; three brothers, Fred, Conrad, and Wilbert Kraus; and four sisters, Clara Kraus, Freida Klossner, Minnie Rothenbuehler, and Marie Knouse.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 10:30 A.M., at Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, with Rev. Todd Hackman of St. John's United Church of Christ, officiating. There will be no visitation. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
