Faith and family were most important. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe. Over the years he worked many volunteer hours at St. Victor school and church, Knights of Columbus, and the Apostolate to the Handicapped. He enjoyed being Santa at Christmas time and also volunteered at Parkside School where his daughter is a teacher. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. He loved attending many of their school and sports events. Gardening and being outside took up the good weather days. Enjoying coffee and treats at the veterans building was also looked forward to. Butch married the former Gail Skogan on September 16, 1967 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Brodhead.
