Dennis O. Truttmann

Age 75, of Monticello, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Dennis was born September 2, 1940 in Mount Horeb, the son of Orville and A. Eleanora (Zumkehr) Truttmann. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1962. Dennis married Alberta Disch on August 8, 1964 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2007. Dennis worked as a surveyor for the Carl C. Crane Company and retired as a consulting engineer for the Foth and Van Dyke Company. He is a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, a former member of the Monticello Lions, and a retired member of the Monticello Fire Dept.

He is survived by three sons, David (April), Troy, and Bruce Truttmann, all of Monticello; four grandchildren, Jo Ellen, MaKayla, Amber, and Levi Truttmann; four sisters, Marilyn (Ralph) Jegerlehner of Monroe, Merri (Albert) Sarbacker of Evansville, Susan Edseth (David Lunn) of Forest Lake, MN, and Peggy Kalschuer of Blue Mounds; two brothers, Steve Truttmann of Monticello, and Roger Truttmann of New Glarus; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Russell; and his step-father, Forrest Edseth.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, 360 S. Garfield St., Monticello, with Rev. Dan Yeazel of Zwingli United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Dennis' name.
