Obituary

Age 89 of Monroe, died at her home surrounded by family on Monday, April 14, 2014. Faye is now with her beloved husband Paul H. Leck who passed away in 2004. Faye lived a long, full, and joyous life. She was born September 10, 1924 in Monroe Township, the 2 nd daughter out of eight children born to Edward & Lillian (Frye) Schneider. She attended Jordan Center Rural School.

Faye married Paul Leck in December of 1941. Paul and Faye lived in southern WI and northern IL before settling in Monroe in 1945. They moved to Blanchardville in 1993. Faye worked as a nursing assistant for the St. Clare Hospital for over 27 years, retiring in 1993. Faye and Paul enjoyed 62 years together and loved to spend time fishing and entertaining the family. Faye had been active in the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, the Green County Conservation League, Hospital Auxiliary, and many other groups.

Survivors include seven children, Wanda (Paul) Meighan-Bechtolt of Monroe, Connie (Fred) Solberger of Orangeville IL, David (Shirley) Leck of Juda, Larry (Celia) Leck of Monroe, Ron Leck of Monroe, Greg (Diane) Leck of Stoughton, and Julie (Kevin) Buehl of Blanchardville; her loving 32 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Florence McNames of Clarksville, IN; and two brothers, Art Schneider of Monroe, and Albert (June) Schneider of Albany; and many nieces and nephews. She and Paul created a legacy of family that is still growing. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Frieda Wyssbood and Frances Beach; and two brothers, Bill and Frank Schneider.

Funeral services will be held on SATURDAY, April 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Pastor Cal Schaver officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the American Legion Post #84. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Faye will be truly missed by her family and friends.
