Jennifer L. Ewald-Esquivel

Age 51, of Madison, formerly of Monroe, died on Monday, January 5, 2026 at U.W. Hospital following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.  Jennifer was born on March 25, 1974 in Platteville, the daughter of Rex and Sharon (Frame) Ewald.  Jennifer graduated from Monroe High School in 1992 and earned a master's degree in Geography/Tropical Ecology with academic honors from U.W. Madison in 1999.  She was married to Donny Esquivel-Vindas with whom she had one child.  She worked as a teaching assistant at U.W. where she loved "teaching students on the hill".  She had a passion for conservation and enjoyed watercolor painting and reading.

Jennifer is survived by her only child, Sol Esquivel of Madison; parents, Rex and Sharon Ewald; brother, Jeffrey Ewald and his son, Henry, all of Monroe; uncles, John (Carol) Ewald, Brian (Claire) Ewald, Dan (Sue) Frame; and aunts, Susan Powers and Kristi Frame.  She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles, John (Jennifer) Frame, Dennis Frame, Jim Powers; and aunt, Mary Frame.

A celebration of Jennifer's life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Buggyworks Public House, 1015 18th Avenue, Monroe. A memorials fund will be established in Jennifer's name for the American Cancer Society.
