Joanne Marie Witt (Hazeltine) 81 of Jefferson, WI formerly of Monroe passed away on early Tuesday morning (01/19/20) surrounded by her family. Joanne is the daughter of Frank Earl and Sophie (Wyss) Hazeltine was born in Monroe October 17, 1934. She attended Oak Corners Country School outside of Albany, WI and graduated from Juda High School in 1952. Joanne met Duane M. Witt and was married in 1952 at the E.U.B. Church in Monroe. They moved to the family farm east of Orangeville, IL where they raised 3 children. She also worked at the switch board at St Clare Hospital in Monroe, WI. In 1973 they sold the farm and moved to Barnes, WI where they bought a resort on Bony Lake and named it Witt's End Resort. In 1983 they sold the resort and retired. Joanne moved back to Monroe to be with friends and family. Joanne enjoyed playing the accordion, piano, working on her computer, and crocheting.

She is survived by three children: Jerry (Barbara) Witt, Barnes, WI, Tom (June) Witt, Freeport, IL, and Jackquelyn (Daryl Spoerl) Witt, Fort Atkinson, WI.She also had eight grandchildren: Natalie (Joe), Karri (Rick), Jerry (Amber), Joe (Aria), Valerie (Kevin), Laura, Andrea (Scott), and Jason (Aimee) and six great grandchildren: two brothers, Earl Henry (Linda) Hazeltine Mt Horeb, WI, John Earl (Darlyne Esser) Hazeltine Elkhorn, WI, one sister: Beverly Carol (Robert) Wolfe Monroe, WI numerous nieces and nephews. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Duane in 1998 and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 2:30 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
