LeRoy L. Burke

Age 78, of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. LeRoy was born on April 9, 1944 in Freeport, the son of Clifford and Dorothy (Mohwinkle) Burke. He graduated from Elizabeth, IL High School in 1962 and lived in the Elizabeth and Stockton area most of his life. LeRoy was self-employed as a handyman and provided lawn care for many years.

He is survived by a daughter, Angella Burke of Freeport; son, Adam Burke of Warren; two grandchildren, DaVaughn Harris and Sofie Burke; two brothers, Ronnie (Darlene) Burke of Pennsylvania, Rick Burke of Monroe; three sisters, Connie Norder of Browntown, Sharon (Homer) Quire, Susan Burke, all of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andy Burke; brother-in-law, Nathan Norder; and a niece, Melissa Theiler-Devoe.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Saucerman Cemetery, rural Browntown. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
