Lorenz Heim

Lorenz Heim, age 85 of Madison, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare.  He was born on November 3, 1929, in Monroe, the son of Jakob and Rosa (Blum) Heim.   The family moved to Madison, where Lorenz graduated from Central High School in 1948.  Lorenz was retired from the UW-Extension where he was the supervisor of the shipping and mailing department for 38 years. He loved photography and could always be seen at family events with 2 or 3 cameras around his neck.  He has even had a few photos published by the Wisconsin Historical Society.  He was also very interested in politics and the Capitol area of Madison where he lived for most of his life.  In addition, he enjoyed being outside and observing nature.

Lorenz is survived by his cousin Lawrence (Joan) Hefty of New Glarus.  He was preceded in death by his parents and cousins.

Private family graveside services will be held in Highland Cemetery, Monticello.  The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.  Memorials may be given directly to the Wisconsin Historical Society in his name.  Online condolences may be given at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
