Lucille Mildred Moritz

Age 95 of Monroe, died peacefully on February 6, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home where she had been residing for the past three years. Lucille was born in Washington Township on November 21, 1919, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Zimmerman) Weissmiller. She graduated from Monticello High School as the class salutatorian. She married Alvin F. Moritz on December 21, 1937 and they were married nearly 70 years. Lucille was a member of the Roosevelt School Mother's Club and Saint John's United Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Fred (Christi) of Crystal Lake, IL and Monroe, and Jon (Jane) of Mazomanie, WI. She is further survived by her sister, Leora Frehner of Monroe; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 2008.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., in the St. John's Garden Apartments lobby with Rev. Tiff Bates of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
