Marian Janet MacDougall Bailey

Marian Janet MacDougall was born November 6, 1924 in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Louise (Risch) and Kirkland Blair MacDougall. Marian received her RN from Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. On December 27, 1947, she married Elwood Ralph Bailey in Wyoming, Pennsylvania. Mar and El raised their five children in Newark, Delaware. They enjoyed a retired life on Don Pedro Island in Florida, returning to Delaware in 1998. Elwood died on July 30, 2007. Marian moved to Monroe in 2011 and considered herself a "Delaware Blue Hen" and a "Wisconsin Badger." Marian died on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Monroe.

Marian was preceded in death by two sons, Kirk Elwood Bailey and Allan Scott Bailey, and a brother, K. Blair (Audrey) MacDougall. She was also preceded in death by her friend and sister-in-law, Lillian (Charles) Slikas. Surviving are sons E. Craig (Jane) Bailey of Newark, Delaware, and John (Cathy) Bailey of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; daughter, Wendy (Steve) Trost of Monroe, Wisconsin; daughters-in-law, Lois Bailey of Midlothian, Virginia, and Pamela Bailey of Winter Haven, Florida; and a brother, Jack (Nancy) MacDougall of Rydal, Pennsylvania.

Her many "favorite" grandchildren are: Beth, Pam, and Kirk (Courtney) Bailey; Taylor Bailey; Brian (Erin) and Craig (Megan) Trost; Jason, Lauren (Corey), Cory, and Sean (Nikki) Bailey. Great-grandsons are Chase Thornburgh and Jackson Gentry.

Per Marian's wishes cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
