Mary W. Gessler

Age 95 of Monroe formerly of Monticello, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Mary was born July 11, 1920 in Monroe, the daughter of Homer and Winifred Burrington. She graduated from Monticello High School and married Raymond Gessler on October 8, 1938 in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple moved to Monticello where Mary helped her husband in his Monticello businesses. Raymond preceded her in death on February 25, 1977.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Gessler and Eugene Gessler; a daughter, Linda Field; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, James Burrington; and a sister, Joyce Miller.

Private family graveside services will be held in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
