Mary Kay was born September 6, 1959 in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of Edward and Kathryn (Stauffer) Becker. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1977.  In 1980 she graduated from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee, WI.  She married Randy Zemlicka on August 2, 1980 at Saint John's United Church of Christ in Monroe.  Soon after they were married, they lived on a farm in Iowa County and Mary Kay worked as an RN at the Memorial Hospital of Iowa County.  In 1991 she and her family moved to Monticello where Mary Kay joined the Monticello Fire Department (15 year member) and New Glarus EMS (20 years).  As a registered nurse, her pursuits in life centered around helping others by compassionately applying her medical skills. Most recently she worked at Monroe Clinic as a nurse educator and as a Parish Nurse at Hope Evangelical Free Church.

Her time was lovingly devoted to her husband, three children, and three grandchildren.  Mary Kay had a passion for music.  She spent many years as a church pianist, accompanying congregations and playing for various special occasions.  Mary Kay loved children and prided herself in being "Grandma Z" to all who knew her.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband, Randy Zemlicka; three children, Karen (Corey) Shenk, Stephen Zemlicka, and Adam Zemlicka; three grandchildren, Isaiah Shenk, Elijah Shenk, and Micah Shenk; and three brothers Roger Becker, Marvin (Darlene) Becker, and Jim (Kathy) Becker; and several nieces and nephews.
