Michael L. "Mick" Reasa
Age 75, of Monticello, died Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home. Michael was born on September 10, 1946 in Monroe, the son of Guy F. and Carol E. (Broughton) Reasa. He grew up on his father's dairy farm in Exeter Township, graduated from Monticello High School in 1964, Green County Teacher's College, and received a bachelor's degree in Education from U.W. Platteville. Michael began his teaching career in Union Grove, Wisconsin where he met Carol A. Preston. The couple were married on April 13, 1968 in Boaz, Wisconsin. They relocated to Juda where Michael taught fifth grade for twelve years while also farming with his father. He and Carol purchased their own dairy farm in Spring Grove Township in 1975. They retired from farming in 2006 and moved to Monticello. Michael was a lifetime learner and avid reader who loved farming, his dogs, and traveling with Carol.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Monticello; seven children, Michelle (Lawrence) Martin of Madison (John, Emma, Daniel), Heather (Steve) Schank of Monona (Josie, Cheyenna), Kelli (Blayne) Outhouse of Oregon (Billy, Benjamin, Russell), Michael (Kathryn) Reasa Jr. (Michael III, Thomas, Kate), Mark Reasa of Austin, TX, Guy P. Reasa (Mandi) of Darlington (Joseph, Gabrielle), and Heath (Charisa Ubersox) Reasa of Monroe (Naomi, Halinda, Hadilynn, Charlten). He is further survived by a sister, Catherine (Buck) Nipple of Albany; and sister-in-law, Dawn Preston of Richland Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, James Preston.
Visitation for Michael will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello. Private graveside services will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany. Michael will be buried with his dog, Sybil. A memorial fund will be established in Michael's name for the Monticello Public Library, Free Spirit Siberian Rescue @huskyrescue.org, or pbswisconsin @ pbswisconsin.org
