Peter A. Steinmann Jr.

Age 59, of Monroe, died on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Veteran's Hospital in Madison. Peter was born on June 28, 1964 in Monroe, the son of Peter Sr. and Roxana (Young) Steinmann. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1983. Peter was a proud Marine, serving as a tank driver from 1984 until 1988. He worked as a farmhand, carpenter for Sunset Remodeling with Kelvin Baertschi, and most recently at Minhas Craft Brewery. Throughout the years, Peter enjoyed wood working, shooting pool, John Wayne movies, and the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his mother, Roxie Steinmann of Monroe; four brothers, Ward (Denise) of Juda, Wade (Anne) of Monroe, Joel (Val) of Brodhead, Jon (Michelle) of Monroe; sister, Tina Keller of Milton; 16 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and best friends, Sandy and Kelvin Baertschi and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Sr.; brother, Todd; brother-in-law, Matt Keller; nephew, Shea-Tate Keller; and great nephew, Winston Steinmann.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Private graveside services with military rites will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. A memorial fund will be established in Peter's name. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
