Robert J. Cenar
Age 88 of Browntown, WI formerly of Roselle, IL, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home. Robert was born on May 1, 1929 in Chicago, the son of John and Josephine (Polgar) Cenar. He graduated from St. George High School in Evanston, IL in 1947 and St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He was stationed in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army from October, 1951 until his honorable discharge in September, 1953. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Mae Miller on August 31, 1957 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Wood Dale, IL. Robert and Carolyn purchased "The Farm" in Browntown in 1972 as a family recreation retreat and part-time residence. Robert worked as a commercial real estate appraiser in Chicago for many years until retiring and moving permanently to "The Farm" in 1994. Bob enjoyed woodworking, forestry, horseback riding, and the outdoors. He will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe.
Bob is lovingly survived by two daughters, Karen (James) Wellhausen of Browntown and Loretta (Paul) Trost of Imperial, MO; a daughter-in-law, Dian Cenar of Boise, ID; three grandchildren, Jamie (Nate) Conn, James D. Wellhausen, and Jackie Wellhausen (fiancé Mike Krause); a sister, Josephine Wandling of Los Angeles, CA; a nephew, Lance Wandling; a niece, Sheree Wandling; and a sister-in-law, Andrea (Ken) Chapman and family of Woodstock, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn in 2005; and a son, Robert T. Cenar in 2014.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14 th Street, Monroe, with Monsignor Larry Bakke officiating. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, February 16, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Victor Catholic Church. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
