Ronald M. Purintun
Age 84, of Monroe, formerly of Janesville, died on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Attic Angels in Middleton. Ron was born on September 17, 1941 in Monroe, the son of David and Florence (Divan) Purintun. He graduated from Albany High School in 1959 and served in the Army National Guard from 1964 – 1970. He was united in marriage to Theresa Mueller in 1968, she preceded him in death in 2002. Ron lived in Janesville for 40 years where he was employed at General Motors until retiring in 2002. He married Janet (Striker) Zee in 2004.
In his younger years, Ron was active as a scout leader and with coaching his children’s youth teams. He always had a love of farming and the outdoors whether it was working on the lawn or cutting trees in his and Janet’s woods. He and Janet enjoyed volunteering with several organizations throughout the years. One of his favorite experiences was going on the Badger Honor Flight in 2024. He also liked doing various puzzles including sudoku, and attending the Behring Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Zee of Monroe; three children, Jennifer Ellis of Janesville, Jacquelyn (Jerry) Halverson of Fitchburg, Jon (Amy) Purintun of McFarland; step-son, Roger (Lorraine) Zee of Darlington; grandchildren, Sophia, Ava, Ella, Lena, Grant, Julia; and a step-granddaughter, Lexi. He is further survived by a brother, Garnett; sister, Donna (Ken) Kundert; sister-in-law, Mary Purintun; several nieces, nephews, and a cousin, Harvetta Rockwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theresa; step-son, Mark Zee; and brothers, Duane, Milton, and Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Diane Quade officiating. Visitation will precede the service on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military rites will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Janesville, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Memorials are suggested in Ronald’s name to Badger Honor Flight or U.W. Carbone Cancer Research.
