Obituary

Sharon Rae Kroetz – 79, of Albany, WI, formerly Monona, WI passed away on March 13th, 2023 at her home

Sharon was born to Marvin and Gladys (Fosso) Torke on August 30, 1943 in Stoughton, WI. She was one of five daughters born to her father, a long time union carpenter and her mother a blessed homemaker and original Klinke's cleaner dry- cleaning employee. Their family farm was along US Hwy 18 near Deerfield, WI.

Her educational years were spent at McFarland school, West Koshkonong School and Frank Allis Grade School until the family moved to the home her father built for the family and she completed her education at Monona Grove High School in 1961.

She then was introduced on a blind date to the love of her life and soon married David Kroetz on November 10, 1962. They remained together for 57 years until his death on August 26, 2020.

They lived in Madison, WI from the time of their wedding and then welcomed a daughter in May of 1967.  From their up until 1970 they then moved into their furst and only home in Monona, WI.

She had worked at a bakery off of East Washington Ave in Maduson in her younger years and later on then working at Methodist Hospital (What is now Meriter Hospital) for several years then followed by The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Stoughton Hospital, and lastly WEA Trust until her retirement at age 70.

For many years she spent time fishing, snowmobiling, and boating on family outings for vacations including time at her twin sister's and husband's cabin at Blueberry Lake in Hayward, WI. Lots of fun times and memories there.

Later on both her and her husband purchased a property in Adams Friendship, WI and vacationed there for several years before transferring ownership to a new family.

She along with husband Dave became grandparents when Kimberly welcomed a daughter, Krista in April of 1994. They were devoted , loving, caring, and cherishable grandparents as they were both very involved with her life.

They welcomed a son-in-law on November 10, 2017, in which both she and Dave were able to celebrate anniversaries and special family moments together.

Once her husband had passed she moved the following year to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

She spent countless hours getting her new home to her liking with all her home improvement projects (which I often teased her that she should be the Sharon's Home Improvement Company. She loved to spend time with family, cooking, gardening, landscaping, thrifting,  antiquing, crosswords,  crafting, photography and appreciating nature ( being that she had her own forest) 😊.

She was a sincere, kind, caring and gentle soul and will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind daughter Kimberly (William), grandaughter Krista, sister Nancy(Ken) Batz, neices and nephews  – Mark(former spouse Juli), Curtis (Holly), Scott(Julie), Randy(Sheila), Vickie, Shawn(Eric), Vincent(Veronica), Luke, Aaron, Nicholas, William(Jaime), Cindy(Scott) and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents Marvin and Gladys Torke, her parents-in- law Clarence and Lillie Kroetz, brother-in-law LeRoy Kroez, twin sisters, Jean(Robert)Johnson, JoAnn (Richard Kearney), her twin Shirley(Richard)Klink, and nephews Russell and Ronald Sugden and niece Theresa(Klink)Gerber.

In closing to my Mom in Heaven, Thank you for always loving me and guiding me. Even though you are no longer here with me I xan still feel your love and guidance. You are always in my heart. I love you and miss you, Kimberly ❤️

From your grandaughter:

She always used to sing to me "You Are My Sunshine"

She always said I was her sunshine and she was always mine – one day I will see you again and we'll sing this very song.

I love you and miss you Nana, Krista ❤️
