Shawn P. Wanielista, age 47, of Monroe, died on March 11, 2025. He had resided in Monroe for the past three years. An Illinois native from Broadview, Naperville, and Schiller Park, Shawn was born on July 11, 1977 to Beth (Dressel) Sanfilippo and Dennis Wanielista. As a proud father, Shawn leaves behind a daughter, Jacqueline Oakey (Monte); a son, Kyle D; a new granddaughter; ex-fiance, Denise Oakey (Roseanne and George Oakey); loving mother, Beth Dressel Sanfilippo & step-father, Mark. He is further survived by step-sister, Jaime (Joe); nieces, Issy and Abby; brother-in-law, Joe Oakey (Kristen) and Robin; cousins, April (Cy) Nordyke, Brian Kachlic, the Blondins, the Andersons, and the Hemingways; friend, Matt Olsen; those at Monroe Truck, Bartels and Co; and friends turned family from Bloomingdae and Schiller Park, IL, Bob (Marie) Penna, Jason S., Melissa T, Jason H, Happy (Dave H), T (Saima and family), Kevin, Sarah (Mike) Schuyler, Michelle (Wes) Villareal, and Sue Tauchen.

Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Dennis; grandparents, William and Astrid Dressel, Matthew and Dorothy Wanielista; and many loving family dogs he had along the way.
