Ulonda M. Dietmeier

Age 92, of Monroe, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her home. Ulonda was born on August 18, 1931 in Monroe to Joseph and Gretta (Camron) Signer. She graduated from Monroe High School and Green County Normal School before teaching grade school for a number of years. She then farmed for 35 years, eventually retiring to Monroe where she was active in the ARC group, as well as the United Methodist Church. Her many interests included researching genealogy and the history of area rural schools.

She is survived by a daughter, Celeste (Richard) Laabs; grandson, Erich Laabs; and grandchildren, Drake, Ruby, James, Henry, and Alice. She is further survived by siblings, Donna Young, Neil (Nancy) Signer, Elaine Haddock, Dean (Deanne) Signer, Nyla Signer, Dale (Karen) Signer, and Gwen (Phil) Robl. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loran; son, Clair; sister, Kathryn; grandson, Ahren; and brothers-in-law, Donald Young and James Haddock.

A celebration of Ulonda's life will be held at the Recreation Park Swiss Alps Shelter House on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Lunch provided will be rice and turkey hot dish with vegetables, cheesecake or pecan pie bars. Please bring your own families drinks or other food needs. After the event, the house will be open if you'd like an item in memory of Ulonda. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the United Methodist Church, 2227 4th Street, Monroe, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
