Valerie A. Steinmann

Age 54, of Brodhead, died Monday, September 9, 2024 at University Hospital in Madison. Val was born on May 14, 1970 in Monroe, the daughter of Gaylord and Joyce (Burmeister) Schultz. She was a 1988 graduate of Blackhawk High School in South Wayne. She was united in marriage to Joel Steinmann on September 19, 1992 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL. Val's passion in life was her family, friends, and faith. Her home was always open to any visitor. She always reminded her family to look at life's positives and find the good in any situation.

She is survived by her husband, Joel Steinmann of Brodhead; four children, Sidney (Nik) Rettinger of Mukwonago, Koel (Laken) Steinmann of South Wayne, Noah Steinmann of South Wayne, Joie Steinmann of Brodhead; two grandchildren, Brantley Steinmann, Ila Steinmann; three sisters and their families, Traci (Nitin) Ganatra of San Jose, CA, Gina (Todd) Leonard of Hollandale, Amy (Mike) Schubert of Verona; her mother-in-law, Roxie Steinmann of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Winston Steinmann; a sister in infancy; maternal grandparents, Don and Gladys Burmeister; paternal grandparents, Merve and Eleanor Schultz; father-in-law, Peter Steinmann Sr.; brothers-in-law, Peter Steinmann Jr, Matt Keller; and a nephew, Shea Tate Keller.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, with Pastor Carter Jorgensen officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 15, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe.
