Virginia A. Redden, age 97 of Monroe, died Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Virginia was born on July 22, 1922 in Frankfort, KY, the daughter of Launta S. and Elizabeth (Cook)  Armstrong. Virginia and Edward E. Redden were married on March 13, 1942 in Frankfort. Virginia had a long distinguished career in the banking industry before retiring as vice president at the Bank of Louisville. She enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer.

She is survived by two sons, Donald (Connie) Redden of Gratiot, WI, and Paul (Sharon) Redden of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward (Gene) in 2009; and two brothers, Boyd and Ray Armstrong.

No local services will be held. Burial will be Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
