Walter F. Steiner

Age 86, of Monroe, died Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the New Glarus Home. Walter was born on December 3, 1938 in New Glarus, the son of Walter and Ida (Hofer) Steiner. He was united in marriage to Louise B. Buol on January 10, 1959 in New Glarus. The couple farmed in the Monroe area for many years. Walter was a member of the Monroe congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses where he enjoyed spending time in the ministry with his friends in the congregation. He loved spending time with his family and was proud to become a great-grandparent to "our little sweetheart." Walter enjoyed going for car rides, shopping, and having coffee at Bernies Diner or the Corner Café. He also enjoyed watching old John Wayne westerns.

He is survived by five children, Morris (Cindy) Steiner, Laurie Steiner, Sam (Kris) Steiner, Kathy (Mark) Eisenberg, Becky (Tony) Balogun; four grandchildren, Zach (Andrea) Steiner, Wes (Brittany) Steiner, Ethan Steiner, Heather (Anthony) Tuten; and his great-granddaughter, Amina Steiner. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise, on October 22, 2014; and grandson, Oby Steiner.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Monroe. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
