Wayne David Wolfe

Age 63, of Monroe, died Friday, January 19, 2024 at Monroe Hospital. Wayne was born on January 5, 1961 in Monroe, the son of Ira and Elva (Eder) Wolfe. Wayne lived on the family farm near Winslow, IL and attended Freeport schools. He worked at Malcolm Eaton Enterprises in Freeport and after his family moved to Monroe, Wayne worked at Greenco Industries where he developed many friends. He was proud of the number of labels he put on packages each day! Wayne enjoyed going out to eat, taking pictures, playing cards, and attending church. He loved watching television especially The Dukes of Hazzard, I Love Lucy, The Waltons, and All Star Wrestling.

He is survived by his sister, Margaret Wolfe (Mark McConnaughay) of Dixon, IL; and several cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Staver St. Peters United Methodist Church, Clarno Township, with Rev. JoAnn Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in Staver Church Cemetery. Visitation will precede the services beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial fund will be established in Wayne's name.
