William J. Trickel

Age 76 of Monroe, died peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Madison. Bill was born March 15, 1938 in Monroe, the son of Harvey and Ina (Kaster) Trickel. He attended Monroe schools before entering the U.S. Army where he served as a paratrooper with the 82 nd Airborne. He was honorably discharged from service in 1961 and married Norma Willborn on January 12, 1963 in Monroe. He drove truck most of his life and became part owner and eventually sole owner of Kubly Transfer/Flying Eagle Express until retiring in 2007. Bill was a member of Monroe Moose Lodge #754, was an avid horse lover, and enjoyed his hunting trips to Conover, WI, and the morning coffee and gossip at the Corner Café.

He is survived by his wife, Norma of Monroe; seven children, Mark Trickel of Beloit, Michele Tschudy of Arlington, TX, Jeff (Heidi) Trickel of Monroe, Tammy (Brian) Hauser of Monroe, Nate (Angie) Trickel of Monroe, Deb (Chad) Niday of Oregon, and Cheryl (Dan) McGuire of Monroe; seventeen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and dog, Sassy.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Private gravesides services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Green County Humane Society or the William S. Middleton Community Living Center.
